This post is a bit late but things have been crazy. We’d like to officially welcome Wayne Hartman from Winnipeg to the team! Wayne kills it and rode with us a bunch when we were in Winnipeg this summer and will be riding for Kink through us. Wayne put together a new Tocco frame and has been shredding it, check out some photos of his rig and some more riding shots after the jump and check out his team page here. Today was the last day of the trip and it was jam packed. We woke up early on the island and drove up to Nanaimo to catch the ferry there, got across, headed to 3 Ride for a bit to hang out and then hit up Horseshoe Bay skatepark for a great session. Doyle leaves tomorrow but everyone else is staying in town for a bit to chill and get some filming done, so watch out. Today we drove up to Duncan and hit Iguana Cycles and then met up with our boy Matt Beyers to ride the local trails. Trails two days in a row? Yea, that’s right, such a good time! Check out more photos after the jump and on the Kink site.
Today we took a long haul up to Courtney to ride some trails and it was well worth the trip. Adam Dyck has an amazing setup at his place and was rad to let us ride it for the afternoon. Cory Clarke is a local there and destroyed the place, dude has lines everywhere. The whole crew threw down, especially Doyle (with the superman above), KC and Tom right before it started to rain but thankfully Adam has a small indoor bowl setup that we rode for a bit before we took off. The Kink Island Tour started out yesterday after we picked everyone (Chris Doyle, Darryl Tocco, KC Badger, Lil John, Jay Roe) up at the airport and loaded into our stealth black 15 passenger van. We loaded up on the ferry and cruised over to the island, hit the hotel and wilded out for the night. Today we hit up Goldstream Cycles and rode a local park with the kids and then headed over to One Six. The dudes at One Six have a dope mini-ramp in the shop that we shredded that for a bit before we cruised over to Vic West skatepark to ride. Check out more photos from the trip so far after the jump.
We’ve pretty much wrapped up our Interior tour with Volume and Demolition and it was a blast. Our last day in Kelowna was spent chilling pretty hard. We hit the beach for a while and then got around to some street riding and stacked clips. Right before we left to head back to Vancouver, Chijioke pulled out the over icepick in the photo above, so good. We headed back to Vancouver and stopped in at Caps Bicycle Warehouse in Langley and rode the local skatepark. Now we’re back in Van and getting ready to head out on the town. Yesterday we were in Penticton for the Inferno Jam and it was a blast. A ton of riders came out, shredded, went really high and jumped really far for some free stuff and had a wild game of footdown in the bowl. We all went from the skatepark to the beach right after (the Interior is the best place on earth) and cooled down before getting loose with everyone at night. Got a day behind on the updates, sorry. Day 2 of the trip was pretty chill, we headed to Vernon and stopped in at Sun Country Cycles for while to meet up with Trevor and the locals. From there we went and rode Coldstream skatepark for a while in the blazing sun, it was a pretty mellow session. We hit up the other local park in Vernon for a bit as well before we headed back to Kelowna for some wild times on the town. The first day of the tour went over pretty well. We all flew in the day before and crashed in Vancouver for the night and made the drive to Kelowna yesterday morning. We got into Kelowna, checked into the hotel and then pedaled over to Cyclepath to meet Matt and the rest of the crew there and to hang out for a bit. We left the shop and headed to the skatepark nearby and had an awesome, chill session with all of the locals. Andrew Lazaruk (MacNeil), in the above photo, came to meet us as well and is our official tour guide of sorts and killed the skatepark as well. We ended last night by going to the OK Corral country bar…yea, country bar. Good times all in all.
