Here’s the latest Ten Pack team rider interview and bike check with Chijioke Okafo (Volume/Demolition). Thanks to everyone who hit up our Facebook page and dropped some questions for him and thanks to Mike Headford for the dope photos! Check out the rest of the interview and photos after the jump!
Hey man, how’ve things been? What’s new?
Things have been good man! Been super busy with a bunch of random shit here and there, not to mention riding every chance I can get. Just started working at a new shop, so it’s been a bit easier to get out more, which is so nice. Winter’s rollin in soon, so I’m trying to hold off the depression for as long as possible, ha ha.
What’re your plans for the winter?
I’m gonna try and do what I do every year, which is just get through it. Gonna try to get back down to Cali for a few weeks, and ride indoor spots as much as I can. Other than that, just make music and work on computer shit. By the looks of things, it promises to be another super exciting winter.
The Sour Fever video premiere went down a bit ago and you had the opening part. Everyone there was so stoked on it, were you pretty happy with how it turned out? Is Chris Silva a demanding boss?
Ha ha, yeah the premiere was an awesome time, I was stoked to see that may people come out for it. Silva is a straight up hard ass Portuguese foreman, so he worked me to the bone! Naw, he definitely pushed me to get some things done that I normally wouldn’t have, which is what I needed to do. I wasn’t expecting to get first part, but when he told me that’s what was happening, I couldn’t have been more excited. I’m super happy with how everything came out, and I hope people who see it are just as pumped on it as we are. Buy that shit!
You’ve been on the Volume/Demolition program for a bit now, what have been your favourite parts? How stoked are you on the brands?
Honestly man, I can’t say enough good shit about Volume and Demolition. Brian and the boys have such a tight thing going on, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it. I’ve gone through a lot of parts since I started riding BMX, and I can safely say that the new shit from both companies is the best stuff I’ve ever ridden, hands down. To know that you’re rockin dependable and high quality parts is the best feeling ever. My fav parts would have to be either the Rolls hub and guard, or the new Cougar bars. 8.69″ rise is where it’s at, thanks Alf!
Shout outs and thanks?
Everyone at Ten Pack, everyone at Volume and Demolition, Silva and my boys at Sour Fever, Kensington Market and all the crazy cats there, all my homies I ride/chill with on the reg, my family for helping me with everything and anyone who came to the premiere/bought a DVD, thanks!

Jah? (Will Robinson)
Jah.
Why are you always so unhappy in Ten Pack photos? (Will Robinson)
Harley makes sure to get me when I’m mean muggin, so he can tell everyone about how mad I am at bars.
Where’s FU on this one? Circ or Un? (Jaumell Xavier)
Circ, only way to be.
No pegs, 4 pegs or right side pegs? (Chase Davidson)
4 minus one back one!
Why you mad tho? (Dave Thomas)
You’d be mad if you were grey, too!
Goofy bars or oppo threes? (Josh Justin Kitchen)
Goofy bars, for sure.
You run a crazy set-up that changes out pegs, pedals, gyro’s and straight cables when you’re just the slightest bit bored, so why are you so ugly? (Will Robinson)
My constant tinkering takes my mind off of how ugly I am.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve found in your hair? (Chris Silva)
A plastic BB from one of those stupid airsoft guns. My friend had shot it into my hair like a week before at a party. Either that, or random bugs/spiders every now and then.
1) Rumour has it you used to ride MTB bikes … do you feel that has helped you in your bmx riding or influenced your style?
2) Do blunts help you hop & hop whip so high? (Peter Dai)
1) Ha ha, no rumour! It’s definitely influenced my style, for sure. I don’t know about helping out though, ha ha. More often than not, I’ll have to re-learn shit I learned on my big bike ’cause it was wrong.
2) Blunts are the only things that help.
With a face like that, what is it about you that draws women from across the room to rub on you? (Aaron Jack)
These god damn skull ropes! Chicks think it’s okay to pull/stroke/feel my hair without asking me… ew.
What’s the deal with girls with 100’s of guy friends? (Record Mike)
They’re fuckin lost, that’s the deal! Ladies, your man don’t wanna hear about all the guys you be hangin out with regularly.
You’ve got a lot of things goin’ on in your life, does anyone help you out with day to day duties? (Patrick Gauci)
Ha ha, my main man Gauci takes care of all of the shit that I don’t have time for. He’s my personal palm pilot, lil guy even picks up my slack on Twitter!
